Compress Image changes the image encoding and file size without resizing the picture. The backend verifies the output width and height after processing so compression does not unexpectedly change the original pixel dimensions.
PNG files use lossless optimization, while TIFF files use lossless Deflate compression. Their file-size reduction can vary because these formats are handled differently from lossy JPEG and WebP compression.
There is no fixed image-count limit in the Compress Image interface. You can select one image or many images as long as their combined upload size stays within 100 MB for the current task.
A single processed image is returned directly. When two or more images are compressed together, EDITHUBS prepares one ZIP archive containing the processed images so the complete task can be downloaded at once.
The result shows the original total size, compressed total size, number of processed files, and actual percentage saved. An image that was already highly optimized may produce only a small reduction or, in some cases, no useful size saving.
Temporary backend output is deleted after the response is delivered. The downloadable browser result uses the shared EDITHUBS result system and expires automatically after 2 hours.
